Keanu Reeves to Make Comic Book Writing Debut With ‘BRZRKR’, Preview Set for Comic-Con@Home
/Although Keanu Reeves has had his fair share of being inside comic series including several Bill & Ted series, he has never entered the world of writing a comic — until now.
Reeves is joining forces with co-writer Matt Kindt (Folklords, Bang!) to create a 12-issue limited series at BOOM! Studios. The comic, titled BRZRKR (pronounced Berzerker), will be a monthly series that has cover art by Rafael Grampá and Alessandro Vitti and will center around a warrior, who just so happens to look like a beloved actor, that has walked a blood-soaked path across the country for centuries. In present day, the Berzerker is hiding in the U.S. doing dangerous jobs for the government in exchange for intel on the truth of his existence.
Kindt said in a statement to USA Today who broke the news, that working with Reeves is immensely cool and that Reeves has
Exceptional creative instincts, deep reservoirs of wisdom on the story, the ability to consistently tap into the raw emotion of a moment, relentless commitment to quality, and the task at hand – it’s all this and much more that make Keanu an inspiring force.
Reeves goes on to say that the story explores themes like “the nature of violence, morals, ethics, and what side you choose.”
