More U.S. Law Enforcement Organizations Choose WhiteFox for Drone Detection and Tracking

The use of drones in criminal activities is on the rise, and law enforcement organizations are using new equipment and tactics for prevention and prosecution.

WhiteFox Defense Technologies, Inc. has delivered the DroneFoxTM Counter UAS (CUAS) system to a major US city’s police department. DroneFox is an omnidirectional drone detection, identification, and mitigation system. The system has demonstrated the ability to detect and track drones at ranges over 15 km during customer testing. The system enables the user to assess the threat level, including the drone and pilot’s location and movement in real-time – a massive advantage in a world quickly experiencing a rise in drone threats.

Drones continue to be used in criminal activities, including monitoring police movements during protests, capturing harassing photos of private citizens, and interfering with law enforcement helicopters, such as a near-collision with an LAPD helicopter. Waco, TX, recently saw a string of robberies that began with burglars using drones to spy on vacant homes before stealing over $200,000 in cash and valuables. As consumer drones become more accessible, the need for counter-drone technology becomes imperative. DroneFox  locates and tracks reckless and malicious drones. Authorized users can also employ DroneFox to mitigate drone threats, safely landing them. This rich dataset and analysis capability enables law enforcement to better respond to drone incidents.

U.S. Pay Equity Laws Miss Key Components to Promote Fairness and Help Businesses Comply, Says New Report from Syndio & Fair Pay Workplace

SEATTLE, March 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. federal and state pay equity laws all lack at least some of the key components to make the laws effective for employees and feasible for companies to comply, according to a new report. Syndio, a leading EquityTech analytics platform with a mission to ensure fairness and equity are part of every employment decision, and Fair Pay Workplace, a nonprofit organization offering a transparent and trusted certification standard for employers dedicated to true pay equity, today released, The State of Pay Equity Laws in the U.S.—2021.

In the nearly 60 years since the federal Equal Pay Act of 1963 was signed into legislation, 44 states have enacted pay equity laws. Yet, despite the passage of these well-intentioned laws, progress on closing the pay gap in the U.S. has stalled. The report from Syndio and Fair Pay Workplace outlined 10 components that any law should include to ensure fair pay, and make it possible for companies to comply.

"Despite a growing number of state and federal rules encouraging pay equity, the U.S. is persistently behind in closing the pay gap," said Maria Colacurcio, CEO of Syndio. "Many laws stifle employers' ability to make progress on pay equity, while others have flaws that don't fully protect the people who are not being paid fairly. To move the needle on pay equity, it's important to ensure any new laws protect the rights of individuals and are feasible for companies."

BOOM! STUDIOS SLAM! SET TO RECEIVE ANIMATED SERIES ON HBO MAX DEVELOPED BY WARNERMEDIA’S ROOSTER TEETH

Today, WarnerMedia’s Rooster Teeth Studios announced development on a new animated series for HBO Max titled ‘Slam!’. ‘Slam!’ is based on the critically-acclaimed BOOM! Studios graphic novels created by Pam Ribon and Veronica Fish. Ribon will adapt and executive produce the series. ‘Slam!’ will be produced by Rooster Teeth Studios, BOOM! Studios, and Minnow Mountain.

‘Slam!” is an adult animated half-hour series set in the fast-paced, hard-hitting, super cheeky, all-female world of banked track roller derby, following two young women who will have to decide if their budding friendship is stronger than the pull of a team when a win is on the line. The series will be brought to life using a groundbreaking combination of rotoscoped and 3D animation to take viewers into the sport in a way never visualized on screen before.

“I’m so fortunate to have the coolest, talented-est, Austin-est animation studios in the world partnering to bring SLAM! to life as a television series,” said Pamela Ribon. “Billy Wee and the team at HBO Max geeked out just as hard as we did when talking about where this could go in storytelling and animation. That’s when we knew we’d found the perfect home. We’re so excited to make this rough and tumble, emotional, honest show about what it means to surrender your life (and your knees!) to roller derby.”

VLog: TNTM’s review of BRZRKR by Boom Studios

Keanu Reeves is still a hot commodity. The Kickstarter for BRZRKR went over like gangbusters when it was announced Keanu was tied to the comic book. Not only is he tied to the comic, the main character is based on his likeness.

We find out in this first issue that the BRZRKR character is immortal and is working with a Black Ops military team. There is someone who is able to speak to him in his head. They are monitoring all his vital signs during his missions. They notice activity in some of his synapses that have gone unused for a long time. BRZRKR starts having memories come back. That is when we find out just how old BRZRKR actually is.

BRZRKR reminds me of Highlander mixed up with John Wick. He is a killing machine that can’t be killed himself. In fact that is the one thing he is searching for, mortality!

Publisher Description

BOOM! Studios today revealed a brand new trailer for BRZRKR #1, the premiere issue of the twelve-issue limited series from the iconic Keanu Reeves in his Must Read comic book writing debut alongside New York Times bestselling co-writer Matt Kindt (Folklords, Bang!), acclaimed artist Ron Garney (Wolverine, Captain America), colorist Bill Crabtree (BPRD), and letterer Clem Robins (Hellboy), available on March 3, 2021.

CentraState Healthcare System Partners With Noteworth to Deliver Telemedicine Services and Extend Care Management Capabilities

Virtual care platform successfully expands access to care and improves internal workflows

Noteworth, a first-of-its-kind virtual care delivery platform, announced its partnership with CentraState Healthcare System to extend the continuity of care for patients in the community. CentraState recently implemented Noteworth to launch multiple programs to expand their care delivery, including telehealth and remote prevention and care management capabilities for diabetes and hypertension.

“Having worked with various vendors for over 20 years, Noteworth is at the top of my list. Not only are their products aiding our patients, the process improvements have allowed our staff to see more patients in the same number of hours,” Brian Dusheck, Director, Ambulatory Applications at CentraState Health System.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CentraState had to quickly adjust the way they triaged, evaluated, and cared for patients to an approach that did not rely on in-person office visits. Within one month of implementation, Noteworth digitized CentraState’s care curriculum and enabled the healthcare system to successfully deploy a digital medicine offering, reducing the need for in-person visits and making virtual care possible.
