IoT startup Notion draws $3.2 million in additional funding

Notion, a connected home startup headquartered in Denver, closed $3.2 million in additional funding as part of the second tranche of a previous seed round from last year.

XL Innovate led the deal with Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures participating. Notion has now raised a total of 5.7 million dollars in addition to a successful Kickstarter. The company currently has 11 employees and has plans to expand to 25-30 over the next year.

Notion is pushing up against traditional home security systems and the DIY home security industry with its simple, low-cost, highly customizable sensors.

Publishing imprints at comic book companies typically have a unifying trait. Series at DC Comics aimed at mature readers are funneled through its Vertigo and Young Animal lines, while Marvel’s Icon presents projects from top-tier creators.

What links many of the comics published by Boom Box, the imprint from Boom Studios, is that they tell personal stories with a sprinkle of glee. It is touchy-feely, but it also seems to be working.

Boom! Studios' bloody werewolf graphic novel Curse is heading to the big screen

Adding to their current film adaptation plate, Boom! Studios has partnered with Blumhouse Productions to bring the original graphic novel, Curse, to the big screen.  Curse was published by Boom! as a four-issue miniseries in 2014 and centers around a father's fight to save his son, which results in the capture of a murderous werewolf.
